  • Why was the Wiki main page redesigned?
    • This was done to cleanup the category list in preparation of merging the TI Express DSP Wiki with this one.
    • The main page was modified to reflect the new categorization and to make browsing this Wiki easier.
  • What if I want to add a new category?
    • While the main page lists several categories it is not the ultimate list of categories. As content is created new categories will be made to help group like content. The current list is just a suggestion of categories.
    • For best practices on when to create a new category please see the Do's and Don'ts page.

I recommend that we remove the following empty categories from the Main Page:

  • OSD
  • VLYNQ
  • McASP
  • EMAC
  • PWM
  • HPI
  • ATA

The SD/MMC link should point to the "SD/MMC" category (4 articles) rather than "SDMMC" category (0 articles).

The new wiki structure is quite good. I would suggest to had one category that emcompass everything that has to do with "bootload, burning Flash, running a stand alone application, restore the EVM flash, UBL/RBL/ABL/U-boot ..etc"...etc as It is a very often asked topic.

1) Provided that all the DM3xx/DM644x/DM6467 device/EVM do have a similar bootload procedure would it be possible to have a link from the main page as shown in the screenshot?

C5000 needs to added to DSP list. We have lots of customers and new parts coming out this year.

  • DONE. Dan R, Alan C. 09/09. We added a PHP script (for admin's only) that allows us to move articles if orig category doesnt make sense.

Talk:Main_page vs Talk:Main_Page_Draft

Erm, "main page draft" is referenced off the main page but it looks obsolete. However, comments on the main page's own "talk" page seem to get ignored. Don't know if this comment will fall into the circular file too. --db 04:17, 30 September 2009 (UTC)

    • Kinda agree that the actual Page content is out of date. If there are no objections w/in 30 days I'll just rename the page to something like "Embedded Processors Wiki Enhancement Requests and Feedback" and mod the content.
      • Re "actual Page content", do you mean the front page of the Wiki? As I noted on its Talk: page, there are some issues related to ARM microcontrollers. Yes I agree that needs to be changed. But I disagree about your suggested change. --db 06:38, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
    • Re 'comments in circular file' we try [ ;-) ] to fix stuff as we go along. We're all part-time admin's. Most of the comments / suggestions above have been addressed.
      • One problem is that you're not actually using the Talk: page of the front page for its talk page!!! So comments going there seem to get ignored. (Because you're using *this* page, instead of the wiki-standard one that's linked up at the top of the front page... or for that matter, at it's bottom with the "leave a comment" link.) Just get rid of this "Draft" thingie entirely and just use the normal Talk: page. --db 06:38, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
      • One more point: the wiki claims it's accessible through four URLs. There's also wiki.aureusdsp.com ... it's at least five. --db 05:20, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
